Seafair Pirates

Heather and I went out to shoot the landing of the Seafair Pirates yesterday  afternoon.  As usual, a great time was had by all, and we got some fantastic shots (see our galleries in the next day or so to enjoy them).

In the mean time, take a look at this amusing video done by the Seattle Times that shows the invasion from the Pirates' point of view.

Photo of the Day--5 July 2009--"Calving"


Today's photo was taken at South Sawyer Glacier in September of 2005, and illustrates the calving of the glacier (where parts fall off into the waters below as the glacier continues its normal movement).

Note the vivid blue color, which is absolutely true to life.

VIRTUAL PHOTOGRAPHIC TOUR OF CELEBRITY INFINITY

I thought that perhaps we would "baptize" the new blog with a video slide show of some of my photos from Celebrity Cruise Lines' ship Infinity.  

These pictures were taken on an Inside Passage cruise to Alaska from Vancouver British Columbia in June/July of 2004 along with several family members.
