Photo of the Day--5 July 2009--"Calving"


Today's photo was taken at South Sawyer Glacier in September of 2005, and illustrates the calving of the glacier (where parts fall off into the waters below as the glacier continues its normal movement).

Note the vivid blue color, which is absolutely true to life.
